Five Guys is so Overrated

Really this is what people have been raving about?!

I decided to try out the burger at Five Guys since I saw so many people trying it.

I went to the Woodbridge location during the long weekend.

Surprisingly, there were quite a bit of people on Victoria Day. I think it's the location that brings in the people also with the fact that nothing else was really open.

The interior is red and white. There were bags of potatoes out on the floor so the fries were definitely not the frozen kind. But believe me not that great either. More on that later.

There were signs all over the place quoting lines from reviews. Seeing all the signs made me even more curious about the burger. Was it really the "Willy Wonkas of Burgercraft?". I highly disagree with that.

Me and my boyfriend both got the bacon cheeseburger with everything except for the peppers. It was loaded good with all the fixings so one bite of this burger it was alright. Now, take away the toppings and just eat the meat alone. It was seriously in need of seasoning. It was tasteless. Not even a pinch of salt was added to it. All the flavor came from the bacon. If it wasn't for good ol bacon then the burger would have been extremely bland so do not be fooled by the toppings. It's just there to make it look mouthwatering.

As for the fries. We got one order of the cajun fries. It was a very generous portion but the problem was it was just like the burger...bland. I mean yes there was cajun seasoning but once again where's the salt. How can you eat fries without salt? It's just not fries at all. How can you get the fries wrong too? Do they not have salt in their kitchen?

Completely overrated. For the money spent I could've gone elsewhere and got a really good juicy burger and seasoned fries.

TOTAL BILL $25...ONCE IS ENOUGH!!!

I totally agree! I also found it kind of pricey for what they delivered. I got the little hamburger + fries and i paid just under $10. i'll stick to my local burger spot.

I've tried Burger Shack but I didn't think the burger I had to be that good? People wrote really good reviews for the place but I didn't find the beef patty to be juicy.. and it was really thin too.

hmmm do they make their own patties? was it filling at all or wur u still hungry?

Five guys is definitely overrated and overpriced! I am frustrated because Burger Priest is the best by far but such a distance from my place.

I remember that cute little doggy pic!

Now that I have had 5 guys (in Scarborough) I can say from experience that you nailed it when you said the burger is bland without the toppings. Why do they use 2 thin single patties instead of 1 thicker patty? My burger was not only bland but dry as well! After having a medium well done burger at burger priest I can't say that I want to go back to 5 guys. To add insult to injury, 5 guys are also more expensive than priest unless you get something from the secret menu. Got to remember to put up my short review on priest as well and not just post pics on foodspotting.

I just tried it for the first time today Everything was bland but the bacon. Everyone I know--including my girlfriend, a foodie and superb chef--thinks I'm insane because I don't think the fries are amazing. I'd describe this place as about as good as Wendy's. Your review articulates exactly what I felt of my experience.
