Rooftop Patio @ Joey Don Mills

My last trip to Joey Don Mills was for lunch. I fell in love with their molten lava chocolate souffle. Just the thought of it now is making me drool. This time around I found another new love.

My colleagues wanted to go out for lunch so I suggested Joey. Since it was such a gorgeous day we opted for the rooftop patio.

I got the ahi tuna club with grilled rare tuna loin with smoked bacon, red pepper relish, arugula and panko onion rings with a side of sweet potato fries. It was absolutely de-li-cious.

2 weeks ago was my first trip to Burger Priest. I only tried the Priest which was off the regular menu. I really enjoyed it.

This time I wanted to try something off the "secret" menu but the feeling wasn't the same.

Burger's Priest

OMG so worth the hype.

Finally I get my hands on one of the most talked bout burgers in the city. I can see why all the rave about The Burger's Priest. It's really really and I mean REALLY good.

Every time I think bout heading there I keep forgetting they are closed on Sundays.

I rarely head this far east so one day since I was nearby I got my coworker to go with me since he lives in the area. Surprisingly, even he never been there either and he lives literally 5 minutes away.

Here is the regular menu. There's also a secret menu as well which wasn't displayed hence "secret" but it is available if you know the name of the burger you want. Since I was going rock climbing right after I couldn't eat too much (didn't want to show all the climbers what I ate once I reached the top lol don't think that would be a pretty sight) so I stuck with the regular menu.

I got the priest since @chopstickhero highly recommended it. Man he was rite. It was beefy-licious. The priest is a combination of 2 burgers, the cheeseburger and the option. The option consists of 2 large portobello mushrooms filled with cheese then covered in some sort of batter and then deep fried. It was un-FREAKIN-believable. I could feel my heart momentarily stop to savor the burger and all it's beefy goodness. It was juicy and bursting with cheesy meaty flavor. Dang I want a burger now.

I have to return and try one of the items from the secret menu. Wonder if it will really make my heart stop lol. I hear the ones on the secret menu are twice the size of the regular burgers and I thought the priest was already big enough.

It is indeed a Friendly House here.

At the corner of Yonge and Drewry lies a little restaurant where you can go in anytime for either breakfast, a burger or even souvlaki whatever you feel for all around the clock.

Five Guys is so Overrated

Really this is what people have been raving about?!

I decided to try out the burger at Five Guys since I saw so many people trying it.

I went to the Woodbridge location during the long weekend.

Surprisingly, there were quite a bit of people on Victoria Day. I think it's the location that brings in the people also with the fact that nothing else was really open.

The interior is red and white. There were bags of potatoes out on the floor so the fries were definitely not the frozen kind. But believe me not that great either. More on that later.

Joe's Hamburgers

EAT ME!!! That's what the burger said to me so I obligingly listened.

Oh-mi-god it was goooood.

I was craving for a burger so got my boyfriend to drive me to Joe's Hamburgers in Richmond Hill.

The owner recommended that I get the Big Joe's 8oz burger. Of course I had to add cheese and bacon to it. It's not a burger unless you have those 2 components on it. Not one or the other, BOTH. He told me not to order fries since the burger itself will be filling for me. Wow first time I heard someone telling me NOT to order fries rather than hearing "Would you like fries with that?".

Golden Star

I don't really care for burgers but when I do have a craving for the juicy minced beef patties I head over to Golden Star. Located close to Yonge and Steeles, this is the place to head to if you want 100% pure beef homemade patties.

It's a relaxing environment where people of every type just come to enjoy a good meaty burger.

The staff is very friendly. They always welcome you with a smile and make you feel just at home.

In the summertime they even have a nice little patio to sit so perfect for an outdoor lunch date or just getting some fresh air.

Me and my boyfriend arrived pretty much close to closing time and the staff didn't rush us at all. They even told us to take our time and enjoy our burgers. Now that's what I call customer service where customer satisfaction is a top priority.

We ordered one cheeseburger combo and a double patty cheeseburger on the side. My cheeseburger was char-grililed to perfection and the patty was juicy and full of beefy flavor. It's not a burger unless your hands are smeared with ketchup and mayo. It was worth the juicy mess.

The fries can be a hit and miss at times but tonight it was definitely a hit. I like my fries extra crispy and crispy is what I got. Golden fries crunchy with every bite. Their fries are freshly cut on a daily basis. The only thing missing was gravy but unfortunately they were sold out for the day.

I have also tried their milkshake and onion rings on previous trips and it was yummy as well.
