My 2 besties were craving for wings and one of them recommended Puck 'N Wings.

We went on a Monday night so we can take full advantage of their wing night special. Half off baby yayyy:)

Glow

I went to Glow to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place looks so pretty inside.

We opted for the patio since it was gorgeous that day and look at the sofas they were just screaming for me to sit on them. It was so comfy and I love my comfy seats.

Fynn's of Temple Bar

$5 APPETIZERS!!!

On Mondays at Fynn's of Temple Bar they have a list of appetizers for $5 each. What an awesome deal.

Me and my girlfriend wanted a quick snack and while passing by this pub there was a sign that read $5 appetizers. That appealed to us.

We got four starters and for that price it wasn't bad at all.

JUMP Cafe

I was craving for chocolate cake so after searching on the yelp site I saw several reviewers recommending the SOMA molten chocolate cake at JUMP Cafe. It was one of the Oliver & Bonacini restaurants and it definitely did not disappoint.

Located in the Commerce Court along Wellington I got a friend of mine to join me on my sweet indulgence.

We were given complimentary bread basket and some sort of garlic tomato dip. It was yummy. I loved the huge tortilla chip.

My friend was hungry so she ordered the truffle ricotta gnocchi with wild mushrooms in a porcini cream sauce. It was fantastic although it doesn't look appealing here in the picture.

Finally the main event, my sweets.

We ordered the SOMA molten chocolate cake and the white chocolate cheesecake double-baked in phyllo pastry with a biscotti crust.

We started off with the cheesecake since we wanted to save the sweetest for last. O-MY-GOD it was the BEST cheesecake EVER. It was light and pillowy soft and not sweet at all. Normally with cheesecakes I take one bite and I am done however, with this one I just couldn't get enough of it. It was simply irresistible.

Now onto the finale.

Sadly it wasn't as what I had expected. The molten cake was fluffy but too sweet for me. One bite and I was done. I can see why the scoop of vanilla ice cream was there. It did help tone down the sweetness still it did not satisfy my craving.

Funny how I came specifically for the molten cake but ended up falling in love with the cheesecake. It was truly worth the trip. Although I didn't get what I came for nevertheless I did discover another sweet treat. I would definitely JUMP to this cafe again.

Mario's Pasta Bar & Grill & "Indian Cuisine"

I was in Mississauga today so I decided to call up my best friend, who was nearby, to meet up for lunch. Since I didn't know the vicinity very well I asked her to choose a place. We ended up at Mario's Pasta Bar & Grill. That was the name I saw at first glance but then after upon closer inspection it actually had read "and Indian Cuisine" in very small lettering so almost kind of missed it. Never actually seen a restaurant name with pasta bar and Indian cuisine in the same line before so this should be interesting. Also the character on the banner was of a chef that looked like Mario from the game the Super Mario brothers so I thought it would have been more of an Italian cuisine. I stand corrected which you will see why later on.

My friend chose this place since she had a coupon where it was buy one entree get one free. Can't go wrong with the deal so gave it a shot. I was starving so anywhere would've been fine with me.

The place was a bit busy with the leftover lunch rush. Guess with the given location not much choices for workers nearby to dine so they settle for this mediocre bar & grill.

I browsed through the menu and I noticed for a place to be called a pasta bar they only offered a very limited amount of pasta dishes. There was only 4 pasta dishes to be exact. Also I definitely did not see any Indian dishes on the menu as well. Maybe it was a separate menu that you would have to request for I'm not sure but don't dare venture to ask since the main menu itself didn't look very promising.

I looked around to see what the other patrons have ordered. On all the tables I noticed it was either a burger or a wrap. Not one table did I see a plate of pasta. Pretty interesting since it was technically a pasta bar. We decided to follow suit and stick with the sandwiches since it appeared to be the safest item to order.

We ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich and chicken quesadilla both served with a side of split pea soup.

The soup was thick with bits and pieces of peas. It was actually quite yummy but got cold pretty quickly so had to gulp it down fast.

The BBQ chicken sandwich well as you can see wasn't much. Just lettuce, tomato, and 2 slices of chicken dabbed with some BBQ sauce. It was tolerable but could use some seasoning. I was starving at that time so could've ate anything. Even Burger King would have made my day.

The quesadilla was good but nothing great. I'm sure I could have created it better myself at home. It was filling at least so that was the only thing that mattered at the time.

Overall, it wasn't a hit but it wasn't completely intolerable. Coupled with the fact that there weren't too many options around I can see how it gets its customers.

The total, along with the coupon, came to around $12 for 2 entrees and 2 sides so I can't complain. I was hungry when I entered and I left with a full stomach. I just won't return again unless there's absolutely nothing else in the vicinity to eat at.

Holy Veal

I did a little shopping at Sherway Gardens a few weeks ago. After the mall was closed I was famished so decided to eat somewhere close by.

We ended up going to The Grille which was located along the Queensway.

We ordered the chicken quesadilla as a starter and I ordered the veal sandwich with poutine as my entree and my boyfriend had the special which was a full rack of ribs along with coleslaw and rice.

This is how my entree looked. OMG!!! It was humongous. Wished I didn't order the appetizer had I known the portions were this big. Then again the appetizer was pretty big should have seen it coming but I was too hungry to care. I always order with my eyes rather than my stomach. My philosophy is it's always better to leave with a full stomach rather than a half full stomach otherwise will have the munchies later. But then it explains why I just can't seem to shed these extra pounds. Needless to say I was no longer starving. I had to pack the leftovers in a brown bag which sadly was pretty much the whole sandwich but at least I finished the poutine. It sure was yummy.

My boyfriend inhaled his full rack of ribs. He didn't get as full as quickly as I did so he didn't have any doggie bag.

The food here was good and they definitely are very generous with their portions so I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who has a big appetite and want more bang for their buck.
