Who doesn't love dim sum. If you don't know what it is then boy have you been missing out.
For those of you who have no clue what I am referring to it's basically a bunch of dishes with small portions of Chinese food. Small but really tasty dishes that is.
I was craving for dim sum so I went to the one close to my place since it was already after 1pm. Dim sum normally runs from early morning to 3 or 4pm.
I went to Legend which is located in the plaza that has Red Lobster close to Yonge and Clark.
It was still packed when we arrived but luckily we only waited a few minutes for a table.
The place renovated recently so it looks much better now then it did before. Regardless, what matters most was the food. It still tasted as yummy as before.
Here was the menu where we just marked off what dishes we wanted. We pretty much order the same dishes every single time. Not one of them disappointed us. Except for one dish where I will mention later on.
Here was the steamed rice noodle roll with minced beef and Chinese parsley drenched in sweet soy sauce.
Here was the pan fried beef short ribs in Maggi sauce.
Here was the steamed spare ribs with black beans.
Here was the steamed pork wrapped in bean curd.
Here was the siu mai which is shrimp and pork dumpling. A must have at every dim sum.
I wanted to try something new so I ordered this deep fried crab meat wrapped in seaweed. It wasn't really that great. Kinda bland a bit. Once was enough here. Better to stick with the basic items.
Now a lot of people don't like tripe but I like it here at dim sum when it's cooked with ginger and onion. Here they call it omassa which sounds a bit prettier than cow stomach. I only like to eat it when it's cut into smaller pieces. I hate it when some places don't prepare it properly and it ends up feeling all rubbery which makes it difficult to chew.
This was my boyfriend's favorite, steamed shrimp dumpling with chive and coriander.
Here were the steamed beef balls.
Here were the classic BBQ pork buns. A favorite of mine when I was a child. I used to scoop out the pork meat and just eat the bun alone. Well I still do that. You're probably asking why don't I just get plain buns but it's just not the same. I love the pork flavor that dissolves into the buns so plain buns just won't do for me. Weird I know but just one of those things I like to do.

Sorry to say that I went to this place few times. There was a bug in my dessert once, then another time, I saw a really big bug on the floor. The food tasted fine, but the place is really dirty.
